Seek the family tree

Are you into genealogy?  God promises Abram and Sarai that they will have millions of descendants.  As a sign of God's promise to them, God changes their names to Abraham and Sarah, our ancestors in the faith.

Seek the rainbow

What promise does God make with the rainbow?  During Lent, we'll focus on promises God makes with us.  Genesis 9:11

Seek Authority

Authority:  What creates it?  Who has it?  How does one use it?  Local people are astounded as Jesus teaches and heals with authority.  Do we still see Jesus as an authority today?  Gospel reading:  Mark 1:21-28

Seek to hear God calling

Here I am, Lord!  This is the boy Samuel's response to God's voice.  Is it also ours?  I Samuel 3:1-10

Seek the Blessing

What's the most meaningful compliment you've ever received?  Hear God's amazing words of assurance and love to Jesus, as he rises up from the waters of baptism.  Gospel reading:  Mark 1:9-11

Seek the light

The beginning of John's good news includes the sentence, "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it".  Seeing the Christmas lights twinkling in the dark, I think of what it means to have Jesus come into the darkness of our world.  John 1:1-5

Seek to see like Simeon

A man has been waiting in the Jerusalem Temple, waiting to see the Messiah.  How will he know the promised one?  How will he greet this Savior?  Luke 2:25-33

Seek the angel's message

When angels and humans meet in the Bible, what are the first words the angels say?  How are their words good news to us?  Luke 2:1-20
