Seek out people of peace

  Ever wish you could speak and immediately get what you want?  A Roman centurion sends his people to Jesus with a request:  Would Jesus please heal his servant?  Jesus is so impressed by this "person of peace" that he applauds the centurion's faith.

Seek the gifts of the Spirit

What, me, witness?  What, you want me to testify?  Yes, we do....and so does Jesus!  But because this can seem like a big job, Jesus also gives us some help...the Holy Spirit.  Listen and find out how that works!

Seek unity

  Here in the U.S., our presidential election cycle is revealing some deep divisions in our country.  We all want this to be a wonderful place to live, but our opinions vary widely on how best to get to that goal. 
  Jesus, in his prayer to God before his arrest and trial, prays that we (his followers) would be one.  As we are one, we would reflect the love God and Jesus have and show forth that love to the world. 
   How are we called to live out this oneness, this love, in a such a world?

Seek to include

     In today's reading, Peter says, "Who was I that I could hinder God?".  That's an intriguing question.....do we hinder God's work?  Do we get in the way of God's intentions for the world?  To be honest, I think sometimes we do.  Sometimes we let our agendas and our fears get in the way.
    In Acts 11, God is trying to be more and more inclusive, welcoming more and more diverse peoples into the early church.  The disciples aren't so sure that this is the way things should work.  But Peter, the disciple who occasionally blurts out the wrong thing, has it right this time.  Do you see parallels with today's world?

Seek to serve

  After his resurrection, Jesus tells Peter to "feed my sheep", to serve others as Jesus has served them.  Here Peter follows Jesus directions as he helps revive a woman who has made it her life's work to help others, as well.

Seek to be brave

  Have you ever walked into a situation, with your knees knocking and your throat tightening up, nervous and scared?  Have you ever been afraid to do something you've been asked to do? 
   Ananias, one of the early believers in Damascus, has been asked to go and pray with the leader of the persecutors, the one who is rounding up Christians for punishment and possible death. "Really, Lord, I need to do this?", Ananias asks.  The answer is "yes", and amazing things happen.

Seek peace

  Ever felt like your whole world has come crashing down around you?  That's where the disciples are on Easter evening....and they've locked themselves in the house because they're so worried and scared.  What happens next is pretty remarkable!

Seek to Remember

   In 10 years, what will you remember about this day?  this year?  this point in your life?  Remembering is an odd thing, as we call to mind experiences from the past and examine them from various angles.
    On Easter day, the women are at the tomb, but they're not sure what they're seeing and experiencing.  The angels tell them to remember.  When they do, their experience makes sense.  What do they do next?  Listen and find out...

Seek the Cross

     On Good Friday, we hear the story of Jesus in his lasthours.  The full reading of this account in the gospel of John can be found in chapters 18:1-19:42. 

Seek to love

   What does it mean to love one another?  How do we begin to show love?  Jesus gives us some clues as on this night, before he is arrested with the help of a disciple Judas, he washes the feet of his friends, his disciples.
