Seek and Doubt

  Doubting often gets a bad rap in the church.  I think that's a real shame--because as you'll hear, some pretty important people doubted at a pretty pivotal time in the life of the Christian faith.  So, I say, go ahead and doubt.....but keep seeking, even as you doubt.

Seek the Shepherd

  The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want..... those familiar words to Psalm 23 are part of our focus today.  But notice the pronouns in that phrase...my, I.  When we visualize walking with Jesus the shepherd, it's often just you and Jesus.  But the gospel calls us to be inclusive, to invite others to know God's love.  Who are you called to invite?

Seek Peace

     Ever felt like your whole world has come crashing down around you?  That's where the disciples are on Easter evening....and they've locked themselves in the house because they're so worried and scared.  What happens next is pretty remarkable!

Seek the Lord

  Ever feel overwhelmed?  Beyond stressed?  Sure that everything is completely and totally falling apart?Yeah, the Psalm writer has been there too.  The writer found help in remembering God's steadfast love.  Listen to what a difference that makes for the writer, and perhaps, for you, too.

Seek to See the Heart

  "For the Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart". (I Samuel 16:7)  God often chooses unlikely people to carry out God's work and mission in the world.  That happens as David is annointed to be king over Israel.  What would it mean if we looked through God's eyes to see the potential God sees in those around us?                                                                            Reading:  I Samuel 16:1-13

Seek to be changed

  Change is sometimes seen as scary and difficult.  Yet, in today's gospel, a woman meets Jesus and her life is changed...for the better.  She emerges from their conversation as a leader. 

  Through her example, is  Jesus calling you to lead, to tell the story of his love for all?
